Two people were killed in separate motor vehicle crashes on Thursday near Gaffney, according to Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler.A driver of a pickup truck was traveling north on Concord Road just before 5:30 p.m. when the driver veered off the side of the road, striking a ditch before overturning, Fowler said.According to Fowler, the victim was trapped in the vehicle and died at the scene.The driver has been identified as Kelvin Bernard Fernanders, 49, of Gaffney.

A man was shot early Tuesday morning in Greenville County, South Carolina, according to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office. The shooting happened on Woodside Ave., officials said. According to officials, a 911 call was received just before 4:15 a.m. regarding an man who had been shot. When deputies arrived on scene, they located a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound, officials said. According to officials, he was transported to the hospital for treatment.
