FARMINGTON – Thanks to the hard work of a number of folks, along with a very generous donation from Dick Bjorn and the Bjorn Foundation, the Bjorn Center for Career and Technical Education is nearly complete and will be ready for students this fall. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday. The Bjorn Center for Career and Technical Education is only the second CTE center in the state that is designed for middle school students, Gov. Mills said in her remarks at the ceremony.

FARMINGTON – After nearly two decades, the popular program “Talkin’ Maine” hosted by Mount Blue Community Access TV will air the final episode of the series on Sunday, June 23, at 6 p.m.For the final episode, host Tom Saviello is joined by special guest Chandler Woodcock, his co-host when the show first aired. Talkin’ Maine began in early 2007 and was called “Talkin’ Maine with the Bowtie Boys.” Saviello and Woodcock filmed over 100 episodes together.

PHILLIPS – Thursday night, the MSAD 58 School Board voted, 10 to 1 with some members absent, to ratify the contract between the Mt. Abram Teachers’ Association and the school district. This contract has been under confidential negotiations, however, when the contract was presented to members of the association for review, that confidentiality was breached.
