Greetings from Wales It’s ten years since I attended my first Green Party conference here in Brighton, which I think it’s fair to say proved a life-changing experience. I can still remember clearly how enthused and excited I felt on my train back to Wales so I’d like to extend a special welcome to all those of you attending conference for the first time and I’m confident your experience this weekend will have been as positive as mine was.

ST. LOUIS — Since 2018, I’ve hosted our adoption franchise, “A Place to Call Home.” We recently celebrated helping our 500th child find their forever family, and I couldn’t be prouder. Not only am I proud as the host of the franchise, but as an adoptive parent, I’m proud of our St. Louis community for stepping up and helping hundreds of children in our area find permanency. Adoption is personal to me. When I was 29 years old, I adopted my identical twin boys, Matthew and Alex.

ST. LOUIS — It has been hot and humid over the last few days and that is about to change! Labor Day, the St. Louis area baked under high temperatures that reached into the mid-90s with heat index values over 100 by the afternoon hours. Tuesday morning, a cold front approaching has brought an increase in cloud cover and even areas of light rain. The Storm Prediction Center has our area outlined for a marginal and slight risk for severe weather Tuesday and Tuesday night.

Last week’s confirmation that the Ffoys-y-Fran coal mine will be closed in November has been welcomed by the Wales Green Party. The mine is the UK’s largest opencast coal mine. Anthony Slaughter, leader of the Wales Green Party has said that the mine’s closure would provide the opportunity to make Wales a ‘renewables powerhouse’. Slaughter said: “Fuelling the nation’s energy needs is part of who we are in Wales. Coal has been central to that, but our future now must be as a renewables powerhouse.

ST. LOUIS — A large cluster of storms is moving into 5 On Your Side viewing area Tuesday morning. Most of the storms during the morning hours should remain below severe criteria, but they could certainly put down some heavy rain in a short amount of time, along with some lightning and thunder. There is a slight and enhanced risk of severe storms during the day on Tuesday, with the worst of the weather impacting our southern counties in Missouri.
