Anthony Slaughter has been re-elected as the leader of the Wales Green Party following a ballot of party members. Winning 63% of the vote, Slaughter defeated the only challenger for the position Debra Cooper. Slaughter was first elected as leader of the Wales Green Party in 2018. He was re-elected in 2021.

Slaughter used his speech to set out the party’s big electoral ambitions in the coming years. Starting by discussing the coming general election for Westminster – due to take place by January 2025 at the latest – Slaughter said the Wales Green Party would “fight our biggest and boldest general election [campaign] yet”.
