The show was originally titled, “Rockstar Kitchen Chronicles,” right? That was just one of the names it had. I didn’t really like it because as an English person, you don’t just call yourself a rock star, you know? That’s a term you only apply to someone else. When I first had the idea, I wanted to call it “Iamfeeder,” but everyone was freaked out by that. I thought it was one of my best titles ever. How did the idea for it come about?

Magnani began her career as a dancer, performing in music videos and commercials until she caught the attention of Martin Scorcese and landed a role in a major film. She has appeared in numerous television series, and has written and directed two award-winning short films, “In Shreds” and “Regarding Rose,” the latter of which is currently on the festival circuit and, as of press time, has garnered 11 awards. In addition to writing and directing, she also teaches acting and dancing in Laguna Hills.

In 1982, Levine launched Tillys, which now has 200 locations around the country. A er working to help children and teens in need throughout her career, she decided to start Tilly’s Life Center, which is a nonprofit that o ers a “social-emotional learning program” in more than 90 schools. What was the worst advice you received? I was once advised not to create my nonprofit organization because I lacked knowledge and experience in the field.
