Attorney Scott Nelson cleared Dubuque Police Officers Dylan Doerges and Stephanie Wehr following an investigation. That investigation shows the responding officers encountered a 16-year-old with a knife. They demanded the teen drop the knife three times.

Superintendent Amy Hawkins cites low state-funding, declining enrollment and increased costs as factors into the potential closure. DUBUQUE, Iowa (KWWL) -- A man that died and a woman injured in a Dubuque County crash on Tuesday have been identified. The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office, Iowa State Patrol and Key West Fire Department responded to the area of Highway 52 and Kemp Road around 4:30 p.m. for a three-vehicle crash. The drivers of two of the vehicles were trapped inside their vehicles. They were extricated, but one of them died of their injuries.

PARKERSBURG, Iowa (KWWL) -- A member of the Parkersburg City Council is facing charges after police said he fought with a man after the council meeting on Monday night. 58-year-old Jim Bellows is charged with assault and interference with official acts, both simple misdemeanors. According to a criminal complaint, Bellows assaulted a man after the man allegedly made a remark to him. The complaint states Bellows chased the man, punched him several times, and a brawl ensued in the grass.
Wanted North Dakota man arrested in Dubuque on Thursday

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KWWL) -- A North Dakota man wanted for Conspiracy to Commit Murder was arrested in Dubuque on Thursday. Dubuque Police were notified on Thursday that the subject was possibly in their jurisdiction. The Flock Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) was checked by police, where they found the vehicle associated with 30-year-old Steven Burrell had been picked up by several cameras. Dubuque Police and the Dubuque County Sheriff's Office arrested Burrell at a Casey's on Rockdale Road.
