The endeavor is thanks to a new “Let’s Read” community literacy initiative spearheaded by Midtown Reader, a Tallahassee-based independent bookstore.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A utility pole in northeast Tallahassee snapped Monday morning after a car crashed into it, according to the City of Tallahassee. The crash happened on Miccosukee and Miles Johnson roads due to wet and windy conditions following Hurricane Debby. The driver is okay. The city’s utility crew was able to replace the pole. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Back-to-school season is in full swing across the Big Bend, and several organizations, community groups and churches are ensuring local kids are set up for success this school year. The seventh Annual Shoes 4 School giveaway is scheduled for August 11 at 8 a.m. in the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center. The event is prepared to give out 7,000 pairs of shoes to children in need of all ages from pre-school to high school.
