LOUIS (First Alert 4) - Coldwater Creek and the West Lake Landfill could see radiation cleanups start sooner than originally planned, according to a new timeline issued by the Environmental Protection Agency, following a visit to local sites last month. In a status update released today, Administrator Lee Zeldin has moved the timeline for cleaning up the irradiated sites by “two years” compared to the initial draft of the proposed cleanup operations.

Saturday is the third annual Confluence Trash Bash, which promises to be one of the largest cleanups on rivers, creeks and across the Lower Missouri River watershed. Volunteers will clean across the area, including sites not along the waterways -- like illegal dumping sites.
