I had a long overdue appointment with my hair stylist on Monday. The second I sat down in the chair, I felt a meltdown coming. Was I going to cry? I didn’t cry, but I almost did. We can blame it on PMS and the overhead lighting that was accentuating my roots and crow's feet, but it was more than that. I just felt . . . horrible. “Please . . . just fix me!!!!” I begged. She laughed and asked what I wanted to do.

Hi and happy Friday! Monday was the 15th birthday of my blog, The Stripe. It is hard to believe that I have been doing this for so long. For the first five years, I held down a day job as well. Those were, to be honest, very hard years. Getting up at the crack of dawn to exercise and then shoot. Outfit posts were the big thing to do back then and every Tuesday and Thursday I’d shoot two outfits before work with Lydia Hudgens (the first photographer I ever worked with!).

I had wanted to email you sooner, but the lead up to and day of (and after….) the election ended up feeling very nuts.
