It has been a long time coming for Waukesha West boys golf. Twenty-one years, to be exact. The Wolverines stunned the golfing world and punched their second-ever ticket to the WIAA Boys State Golf Tournament after finishing second at the Brookfield Central sectional on Tuesday at Wanaki Golf Course in Menomonee Falls, beating out the likes of the Lancers and Phoenix. While the result may have surprised some, it wasn’t a surprise to Wolverines coach Nathan Berish.

LA CROSSE — This year’s WIAA State Track and Field Championships could have a familiar feel. Arrowhead’s boys head to Veterans Memorial Stadium Complex in La Crosse as the returning champions, and if all goes according to plan, they could return home as champions again this year. Although they may have won the last four editions of the state tournament, things feel a little less cut and dried this year for the Warhawks’ boys program.
