    ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Elizabethton-Carter County Animal Shelter removed numerous animals from a home on Friday. Shannon Posada, Director of the Elizabethton-Carter County Animal Shelter, said the shelter was alerted to the case earlier in the week. “We had some calls from some concerned citizens about some animals that needed a welfare check on this week,” said Posada. “We were also alerted by some more concerned citizens.

    CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Carter County jury has reached a verdict in the trial for brothers Jacob and Joshua Hitchcock, who are accused of murdering their father, William “Bill” Hitchcock. The jury reached a verdict on Wednesday morning. The jury found both Joshua and Jacob Hitchcock guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Jacob Hitchcock was also found guilty of tampering with evidence. A sentencing hearing for the brothers was set for Aug. 20.
