    CHURCH HILL, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect who is charged in connection with a homicide after a man was found dead inside a home on Wednesday. According to a news release from the HCSO, deputies responded to a reported shooting at a home on Rocky Hill Lane in Church Hill around 5:40 a.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, deputies found a deceased male, later identified by police as Shamond Harris, 22, inside the home.

    DAMASCUS, Va. (WJHL)—Business owners who lost their facilities in Damascus, Virginia, are continuing to rebuild. Ralph Wilson owns four businesses in the town. His popular “Damascus Diner” was filled with over three feet of water from Hurricane Helene. Since September, Wilson has been rebuilding the inside with new flooring and equipment. He’s excited to reopen to residents and visitors, but the rebuilding process has been filled with ups and downs.

Damascus is an example of the power of neighbors working together to help each other and the town recover. Vice President JD Vance even stopped by the town twice to survey damage. Six months after Helene, the damage is still evident.
