Bill and Elaine Markham have been making maple syrup at the Mill Brook Sugarhouse on New Lenox Road for 46 years. They use reverse osmosis to take out 75 percent of the water and an oil boiler to bring the sap to syrup. The earliest runs tend to yield lighter syrup. The first run of 2025 used about 3,000 gallons of sap. Purchase photos here.
