After we get past some isolated rain and snow showers this evening, drier conditions are expected overnight, with patchy fog possible. Dry weather is then expected for the next seven days. Temperatures in the lower-50s Saturday increase to the upper-50s Sunday and Monday. Tuesday looks like a good bet to reach at least the mid-60s everywhere, with even warmer conditions for interior locations. We’ll cool back to the lower-50s Wednesday with breezy conditions.

MUNISING, Mich. (WLUC) - Around 1,000 National Park Service workers faced job cuts this year. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a major factor in Upper Michigan’s economy. Area leaders say they don’t expect many disruptions at U.P. parks this year, but there’s still a lot up in the air because these parks are busiest in the summer. Park service data says there were 953,052 recreation visits to Pictured Rocks in 2024. This is the highest number the park has seen outside of 2020 and 2021.

It’s a TV6 First Alert Weather Day for all of Upper Michigan through tonight, as strong to severe thunderstorms are possible, especially this evening, as a cold front approaches the area. Storms this evening have the potential to produce damaging winds, large hail and isolated flash flooding. An isolated brief tornado also can’t be ruled out. The further southwest you are (and especially near the Wisconsin border), the higher the severe weather risk will be.
