Having been in the planning stage for years, the City of Hoschton has now secured an 80% guaranteed maximum price (GMP) of $31.82 million with Reeves Young to expand its wastewater treatment plant to a capacity of 950,000 gallons per day. Money paid during this phase will also help facilitate the planned transition to two million gallons per day. The Hoschton City Council voted to accept the GMP on June 17.

The City of Hoschton will use $286,000 in state road improvement funds for extensive road repairs in the Villages subdivision and on Peachtree Rd.The project will include paving and patching in The Village, as well as some patching on Peachtree Road. The city awarded the project on Tuesday (June 17) to Allied Paving Contractors, the lowest among four bidders.

Hoschton’s long-awaited booster pump for its north water tank is now complete, finally allowing it to fill the tank, which was built in 2023, according to a report from Mayor Debbie Martin. The city won’t fill the 500,000-gallon tank until the fall to avoid interrupting the irrigation system. Meanwhile, completion of the city’s 750,000-gallon south water tank at Jopena Rd., across from Publix, is not expected until early 2026.

A convenience store with retail and self-storage in South Hall at the intersection of Friendship Rd. and Ridge Rd. has received approval. The Hall County Board of Commissioners on Thursday (June 12) voted unanimously in favor of a zoning amendment request from Sinndar Enterprises to allow for the project.
