MADISON, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin has its point guard back. After going through the NBA Draft process to assess his professional readiness, guard John Blackwell announced he will return to the Badgers for his junior season, putting their all-conference player back into their rotation. It was a popular opinion that the 6-4 Blackwell would return. He didn't appear as a first-round pick in mock drafts and was rarely mentioned as a fringe second-round selection.

Former University of Wisconsin offensive lineman Joe Huber's versatility has earned him an NFL opportunity. After going undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, Huber quickly signed a free agent deal with the Minnesota Vikings, who were limited on draft picks and needed help on the interior of the offensive line. After selecting Ohio State offensive guard Donovan Jackson with the 24th overall pick, the Vikings didn't have another pick until the third round.

The University of Wisconsin saw one of its homegrown players put the program on the board in the 2025 NFL Draft. A steady contributor to the Badgers' secondary during his four-year career, safety Hunter Wohler was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in Round 7. With the annual draft happening in Green Bay, Wohler's name was read two hours north of where the 6-2 safety starred in high school and two hours northeast of where Wohler developed into an all-conference defensive back.

Jack Nelson is the next addition to the University of Wisconsin's proud NFL offensive line tradition. After starting four seasons in the trenches for the Badgers, the Stoughton, Wis., native became the program's latest NFL draftee when the Atlanta Falcons selected him with the 218th pick in the Seventh Round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Saturday in Green Bay. Nelson's selection marks the seventh straight draft where Wisconsin has seen at least one offensive lineman selected.

Braeden Carrington knew his hardware wasn't going to mean much at the Big Ten level. The 6-4 Brooklyn Park, MN, native was entering his freshman season at the University of Minnesota as the state's Mr. Basketball winner, averaging 17.8 points per game for a school that went 31-1 and won the 2022 4A state title. But joining a team with established scorers like Jamison Battle, Dawson Garcia, and others, Carrington knew the quickest way to earn minutes was to embrace things other than scoring.
