JOSEPH, Mich. -- The U.S. Corps of Engineers, Detroit District will begin dredging outer St. Joseph Harbor on May 13 to remove shoaling, perform preventative maintenance at the harbor mouth to avoid interruptions to the commercial shipping season, and keep the federal channel open. Authorities say hydraulic dredging -- pumping sediment through a temporary pipeline -- will be used to clear the shoal at the harbor.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding 80-year-old Florence Livermore, who has been reported missing. Police say she was last seen on Monday morning around 10 a.m. when she took a walk in the 500 block of E. Victoria Street. Family members say she has mild dementia. Livermore is described as 4'10" with white hair and was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and pants, along with a gold shawl.

The Cass County Drain Commissioner in Marcellus will receive a $65,800 grant to remove the McMillan Dam.
