Police say the initial investigation indicates the suspect handed an employee a note demanding money. After officers arrived, employees safely exited the building. The man didn't display weapons, authorities said. The suspect was taken into custody around 10:19 a.m., and no injuries were reported.

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reports a K9 deputy conducted a traffic stop on May 30 around 2:45 p.m. near US 31 and 9A Road, resulting in two arrests. Authorities identified the driver as 42-year-old Aaron Brown, and a passenger was identified as 46-year-old Melvin Soloman. Brown was found to have a license status of Habitual Traffic Violator and suspected of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.
S.R. 119 intersection improvement project starts June 9

INDOT say S.R. 25 between S.R. 110 and S.R. 19 will close for about three days, weather permitting. The official detour will follow S.R. 110, US 31, S.R. 10, and S.R. 19. ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Fire Department reports crews responded to a possible structure fire at 1419 Navajo Street on Tuesday around 1:50 p.m.Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the attic area around the eaves at the peak of the roof. Fire officials say it was reported that someone was still inside the home at the time. After a primary search of the home, it was found that all three occupants had safely evacuated the house.

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a call at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday for a two-vehicle crash on S.R. 15 just south of C.R. 1350. Authorities say the crash left one person dead, one with minor injuries, and one uninjured. Southbound traffic is being rerouted either east or west and northbound lanes are at a standstill. Authorities say the road will remain closed for at least another hour if not longer.

Police say the full text threatens to suspend your vehicle registration and driving privileges unless you click on a link to pay this "fine" by June 6. The message claims to be from the "Indiana Department of Motor Vehicles," which is not a thing, and refers to the "North Indiana State Administrative Code," which police say is also fake.
