By MATT ELLIS [email protected] MILTON - The Milton Red Hawks' boys tennis team continues to flourish as the Red Hawks defeated Beaver Dam 7-0 in Badger Large Conference action Wednesday. "Today was extremely rare for Milton tennis as we got our third consecutive 7-0 win," said Milton head coach Ryan Ooms. "As a team we have been really focusing on being consistent during practice and all 10 guys are buying in and the results are starting to follow."

With senior Lilly Keller in the circle for the Vikings in the bottom of the 10th inning, Elk Kendall Kresen got a leadoff walk. A bunt by Liv Ketterhagen resulted in an error by Parker first baseman Emma Terry. Kresen capitalized on the error and scored.

While the Cougars were unable to score a run, the Cardinals had 15 runners plant a foot on home plate in a 15-0 win at the Janesville Youth Sports Complex.

Middleton won with a score of 304, Craig placed second with 338 and Madison La Follette placed third with 353. Middleton's Luke Weiss shot the day's best score with a 73.

On the boys side, Parker coach Richard Schuh said Landon Wright had a big personal record in the discus, throwing over 149 feet. Cody Slater ran his first individual event of the year, and won the 200-meter dash.

By MATT ELLIS [email protected] JANESVILLE - Emily Kleinheinz's clout carried the day in the crosstown clash for Janesville Craig's softball team Tuesday at the Youth Sports Complex as the Cougar first baseman hit a 2-out, 2-run walk-off home run sending the Cougars to a 4-3 victory over Janesville Parker. Overcoming a 3-2 deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning was no problem. Swings, first, by Brynn Sikich and then Kleinheinz lifted the Cougars to victory.

JANESVILLE - If Janesville Parker's baseball team has learned one thing through its first five games - it's that it needs to cut down on errors. The Vikings committed three against Middleton in a 5-3 loss Friday and three against Sun Prairie East in a 12-2 loss the day prior. Those errors turned into eight unearned runs. When the Vikings took on D.C. Everest in their first game at Riverside Park Saturday, the Evergreens capitalized on three Parker errors in an 8-5 win.

BEAVER DAM - Janesville Parker battled its way to the girls soccer championship match on Saturday in a six-team tournament in Beaver Dam, but the Vikings were defeated 1-0 by Madison Country Day in the tournament finale. "There was just a little break between that (game) and the one before," said Parker coach Andy Nouansacksy. "I think the girls just came out flat and couldn't get any connections going on. It was just a little sloppy play and then we couldn't recover."
