A new Leon’s will be among two stores anchoring a shopping plaza that when completed will bring an additional 10,700 square metres (115,000 square feet) of commercial space to Welland. Construction is ongoing at the 3.9-hectare (9.6-acre) site across from Seaway Mall on the west side of Niagara Street between Zehrs and Holy Cross Cemetery. Crews are working around a former Peavey Mart and an adjacent parking lot being used by Leon’s as a temporary location.
