    Two months after a teenage patron was shot, a St. Catharines nightclub has had its liquor licence suspended. Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario announced Monday it had issued an order to temporarily suspend the liquor licence belonging to Club 88, effective June 20. The provincial agency said in a news release it had also filed a notice of proposal to revoke the liquor licence of Motif Inc, which operates the St. Paul Street nightclub.

    It’s frustrating for Rosie Harris to go to the two stores in Nain and be unable to buy essential items like toilet paper, baby wipes,  cleaning supplies, ketchup, or rice, due to the Kamutik W ferry being  unable to deliver to the Inuit community on Labrador’s north coast. Harris has four young children at home who are picky eaters, and  without staple foods they eat, the mother has had a hard time cooking  enough food they enjoy.

    Niagara’s Transit Commission has approved the purchase of 20 specialized vehicles from Brantford-based Girardin Ontario Inc., a decision that rejuvenates the bus system’s aging fleet without taking taxpayers for a ride. Commissioners awarded a $3.6-million contract for the eight-metre-long buses last week. Niagara Transit’s fleet now has 23 specialized transit vehicles.
