The YMCA of Saskatoon has chosen a new chief executive officer. DeeAnn Mercier has been named the successor to Dean Dodge, who served 10 years in the role. Mercier most recently served as executive director of the Broadway Business Improvement District. Prior to that, she was the communications director for the Lighthouse Supported Living Inc.

Emergency crews remain on the scene, working to put out a house fire in Saskatoon’s Pleasant Hill Neighbourhood Tuesday morning. Crews were called to the 200 block of Avenue L South at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. Flames and heavy smoke could be seen coming from the roof of the house, according to Saskatoon Fire. It’s unknown if anyone was inside the home at the time of the fire. There’s no word yet on what sparked the blaze, or a damage estimate.

The flurries started to fall around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning, leaving early-morning drivers to deal with snow-covered roads. Drivers are urged to use caution on streets following the snowfall.

One of the biggest names in country music will play Saskatoon’s SaskTel Centre in March of 2024. 10-time Grammy Award nominee Blake Shelton brings his ‘Back To The Honky Tonk Tour presented by Kubota’ to Saskatoon March 7. He’ll be joined by fellow country musicians Dustin Lynch and Emily Ann Roberts. The Saskatoon stop is one of seventeen shows on the tour, which kicks off February 22 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, before wrapping up March 29th in Wichita, Kansas.

The Saskatoon Police Service is asking the public for help locating a missing 15-year-old boy. Kylan Andrew was last seen Sunday, September 24th in the 2000 block of Arlington Avenue, around 3:00 p.m. He’s described as standing 5’6” in height, weighing around 150 pounds, and has shoulder-length black hair and brown eyes. Police and family are concerned for his safety, as he may be in a vulnerable state. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
