A guilty verdict was returned against James Christopher Jones on July 17 in the 2018 murder of Kay Thomasson of Sandy Springs. The Sandy Springs Police Department reported that Jones was found guilty on all counts for Thomasson's murder, which occurred on June 27, 2018, at her Old Woodbine Road residence. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 30 years.
