Two more high-ranking sports industry executives have surfaced as possibilities for the PGA Tour’s CEO role, according to sources familiar with the search. Sources across both golf and the NFL said the tour has continued to show interest in NFL Chief Media & Business Officer Brian Rolapp, while sources said Jared Smith, the former Ticketmaster chairman, also is on the tour’s short list.

Matthew Grossman‘s life in branded merchandise began in the parking lots of Grateful Dead shows. His parents told him as a teenager to get a part-time job, which led him to the parking lots of Buckeye Lake Amphitheater and Richfield Coliseum. He’d carry only some of the T-shirts while roaming the lots, leaving some of it behind in his car; if he got busted, he wouldn’t lose all his inventory. Grossman sold between 1,500 and 2,000 T-shirts per show.

Utah Hockey Club’s launch was so quick last fall that Salt Lake City’s Delta Center didn’t have time to adapt to accommodating the sport, which has a much larger playing surface than basketball. The renovation of Delta Center taking place over the next three summers, starting this month, will address that issue in part through a novel riser seating system in both end zones of the 34-year-old arena.
