A woman is to be charged with DUI after a Centre County woman was killed in a November crash near Gettysburg. Mary Dunn, of Lackawanna County, will be charged with three counts of DUI and one count of driving with a suspended driver's license, Cumberland Township police told the Centre Daily Times. No charges were filed as of Monday and it was not known if she had a defense lawyer who could speak on her behalf.

A judge ruled Wednesday that Centre County prosecutors presented enough evidence to continue with their case against a man accused of planning a mass shooting at State College Area High School. Braeden A. Phillips, 20, of Mifflin County and formerly of State College, saw felony charges of conspiracy to commit murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and terroristic threats move forward.

A Centre County man was sentenced Tuesday to at least three decades in state prison after being convicted at trial earlier this year of child rape and statutory sexual assault. Vladimir Y. Slavskiy, 36, of Penn Township, was sentenced by Centre County President Judge Jonathan Grine to a maximum of 60 years in prison. He received credit for about eight months served in the Centre County Correctional Facility. Slavskiy must also register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

A Philipsburg man was sentenced Tuesday to at least a decade in state prison after earlier pleading no contest to indecently assaulting a 1-year-old. Andrew L. Ramage, 28, was sentenced by Centre County President Judge Jonathan Grine to a maximum of 20 years behind bars. He must also register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. The sentence was the maximum allowed by state law. Grine described the crime as a "brutal attack" against a defenseless baby.

A man was charged Thursday with impersonating a public servant after Penn State police said he used an artificial intelligence text chatbot to compose messages he then sent to a woman. Isaiah H. Goldman, 21, falsely pretended to be a university police officer by telling a woman he knew to immediately contact him and asking her investigatory questions, a Penn State police officer wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.
