ITHACA, N.Y. — It’s been a very changeable and often-unsettled early spring, but as we transition into late April, the weather will transition to a warmer, drier, and much more pleasant large-scale regime. No major weather disruptions are expected this week, but keep in mind that all the folks shaking off their cabin fever might result in some extra activity on the roads and around Tompkins County.

ITHACA, N.Y. — Faced with an unsolicited bid for some of the last remaining undeveloped land on Cherry Street, City of Ithaca officials decided to start formal proceedings to see if they can finally get shovels in the dirt. The south end of Cherry Street has been a thorn in the city’s side for a number of years. Cherry Street below Cecil Malone Drive does not allow residential uses because of flooding risks, so uses are limited to industrial, hospitality or other businesses.

ITHACA, N.Y. — If you’re getting your spring seedlings started, you’ll be keeping them indoors under the sun lamp for the time being; it’ll be a cool and often-damp week ahead. Some light snow will be possible Monday night into Tuesday, but nothing too disruptive is in the cards. Temperatures will moderate to more seasonable values as we get later in the week. A slow-moving cold frontal trough continues to grind its way eastward against a strong Atlantic high.
