The department’s Missing Persons Squad said Genesis Mejia was last seen walking away from her home on Lexington Avenue in Westbury about 11:30 p.m.She was reported missing to police about 5 a.m. on Monday.

Two Long Island women are each $1 million richer after claiming big lottery prizes Tuesday in separate New York Lottery games. AnnaMaria Gjomarkaj of Hempstead won $1 million in the Oct. 1, 2024, Mega Millions drawing, matching the first five numbers — 25, 35, 47, 50, and 66. She missed only the Mega Ball, which was 25. Gjomarkaj — who traveled to Smokes 4 Less in Newburgh to buy her second-prize winning ticket — received a lump sum payout of $651,000 after required withholdings.

Fifty cats — many in dire need of veterinary care — were rescued from a Bohemia home Saturday afternoon, Suffolk County SPCA Chief Roy Gross said. Authorities removed the animals from the residence and are currently housing and treating them at the SPCA’s MASH Unit in partnership with the Town of Islip Animal Shelter. The SPCA is calling on veterinarians and licensed vet techs to volunteer their services on Tuesday, when medical evaluations and treatments will begin.
