In March 2022, the state Dept. of Justice filed the civil lawsuit, alleging Johnson Controls and Tyco Fire Products violated the state’s hazardous substance spills law. According to the complaint, the companies failed to notify the DNR of a PFAS discharge. It also states they failed to clean up contamination at and around the Fire Technology Center in Marinette. Tyco has denied the allegations.

Rescue crews were dispatched to the farm on County F in the town of Meeme at 10:14 a.m., according to Valders Fire Dept. Chief Christopher Dallas. One person died as a result of the incident. No other details about the victim were released.

OSHKOSH (WLUK) -- Sybastian Crossman was sentenced to six years in prison for a fatal stabbing. Crossman, 24, was also placed on extended supervision for five years in connection with the Aug. 10 incident at Monday's sentencing, according to a court official. He was convicted of homicide by negligent handling of a dangerous weapon. According to the complaint, police were called to the lot outside of a pizza restaurant on High Avenue in Oshkosh about 2:30 a.m. due to a report of a stabbing.
