A shooting investigation is underway Saturday morning in Northeast Miami-Dade, deputies said. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene at Northeast Second Court and 141st Street. NBC6 cameras captured an active investigation as detectives walked around the area searching for clues. Detectives have been focusing on a black SUV that was parked in the area. A white tarp was seen inside the vehicle and several bullet markers were placed on it.

An elderly man is recovering in the hospital after being brutally assaulted in Pompano Beach. His daughter on Wednesday told NBC6 it was a routine for him as he counts his steps and walks around the park three times a weekThe victim's daughter said she hopes by sharing her father's story, she'll spread awareness, specifically to the elderly community. "Who would do something like this to a 74-year-old man," Ciketia Ponder said.

A woman and her three children were shot and killed at an apartment complex in Pembroke Park Wednesday night, and authorities say it was the father of two of the children who pulled the trigger. The shooting happened before 7:30 p.m. near the 3100 block of Hallandale Beach Boulevard, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

A police investigation is underway at a Miami Gardens apartment complex Tuesday morning. Crime scene tape surrounded one of the buildings at Laguna Gardens at 20775 Northwest 17th Avenue, and one of the entrances was blocked off. NBC6 crews saw how authorities combed the scene, at one point picking up a shirt that appeared to have blood on it. Chopper6 also saw a K-9 unit in the area. Authorities did not immediately say what they were investigating, or if anyone was hurt.

An 80-year-old man apparently shot and killed another man and a woman before turning the gun on himself at a home in a Pompano Beach retirement community, authorities said. Broward Sheriff's Office officials said deputies responded to a welfare check call at a home in the Leisureville community near the 300 block of South Golf Boulevard at around 7 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies found two vehicles in the driveway and a mailbox that was overflowing with mail, officials said.
