(Image: Supplied) A CUMBRIAN rescue service have reported a 'busy day' for them earlier this week- as they say that as the temperature continues to rise 'so does the number of callouts'. The Great North Air Ambulance said they were called out to a eight incidents yesterday, June 19 in what was an extremely busy day for the service.

A MAN in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder - after police were called to reports a man in his 50s had been stabbed in Millom. Police were called shortly after 4.30pm yesterday, June 18 following a report of a man in his 50s having been stabbed in the abdomen inside an address in Crown Street in Millom. Emergency services attended and the injured man was taken by air ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries. He is in a stable condition this morning.
