    A "far reaching and alarming attack on the free press" is how a prominent magazine publisher described efforts by a Massachusetts prosecutor to obtain information from its reporter. The publisher of The New Yorker magazine recently filed a motion opposing the Plymouth County District Attorney's request for the magazine's off-the-record notes, recordings and other materials gathered from the reporter's interview with Lindsay Clancy's husband, Patrick, and others.

    On March 15, 2020, then-Gov. Charlie Baker ordered Massachusetts schools to shut down by the end of the next day for a three-week suspension. The suspension lasted longer than three weeks, but today, five years after the shutdown was ordered, Massachusetts students are still feeling the impact. Districts reporting attendance and behavioral problems. Test scores down, especially reading. Take schools in the city of Salem, one of many communities dealing with the fallout.

    Calling all K-12 students in Massachusetts. The governor's administration is encouraging students to submit history projects as part of a statewide contest. As part of "Massachusetts Revolutionaries: Bold Stories, Bright Legacies," the Healey-Driscoll administration wants students to submit a project of their choosing that tells a story about one of Massachusetts' revolutionaries. Students have until June 30 to submit their stories at Massachusetts250.org.
