This economic development initiative, once referred to as Project Terrace, would bring Techo-Bloc Corporation, a Canadian company, to a private parcel on Dixiana Road in Cayce near Saxe Gotha Industrial Park.

Lexington County Council will soon hear a request from a housing developer that could bring over 600 homes to an area not too far from Red Bank, White Knoll and Edmund. The county’s planning commission approved the request in April, so it will appear on a county council agenda soon, and if it passes three readings with the county council, then the developer would be permitted to move forward with the project.

The April 17 bus accident on the Chester County, South Carolina, section of Interstate 77 killed one Lexington County School District Two eighth-grader and sent many others to the hospital. Three buses from Lexington County’s Pine Ridge Middle School were on the way home from a Charlotte-area field trip on Thursday when a tire blew on one of the buses, causing an accident. The bus was carrying three adults and 35 students, according to the first statement the district gave the media.
