Skoda (+69.1%) is euphoric below at 10.5% of the market, distancing BMW (+24.4%) and Audi (+10.9%). Cupra (+92.8%) posts another stellar result, repeating at a record 5th place overall.

Volkswagen (+6.3%) dominates once again with 14.5% of the market, distancing Skoda (+13.4%) at 10.5%. BMW (+29%) and Audi (+42.1%) both post very satisfying gains to ensure the Top 4 is unchanged on last month and year-to-date.

The Dacia Duster is up to a record third place in Austria in March. 25,950 new cars hit Austrian roads in March, a tiny 1% year-on-year lift. The Q1 tally is up 4.4% to 66,017. The Top 5 brands all beat the market. Volkswagen (+5.3%) leads the way again at 13.8% share, followed by Skoda (+5.1%), BMW (+9.3%), Audi (+5.2%) and Dacia (+8.1%). Mercedes (-20%) is in complete freefall year-on-year but still manages a 6th place overall.

Increasing familiarity with the process of recharging electric vehicles (EVs) will boost the currently stalling switch to electric in the UK, according to the most senior global spokesperson of new-energy manufacturer BYD. A recent survey by the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT) concluded that 1.782 million new EVs will be registered in the UK between 2025 and 2027, with 23% of new car buyers planning to go electric by 2028.
