    A city man has been accused of punching two people outside a downtown Winchester bar over the weekend. Christopher Dashawn Ka Sloane, 29, of the 500 block of Kent Street, is charged with one felony count of malicious wounding, along with misdemeanor counts of assault and battery and public intoxication. The alleged incident occurred Saturday night outside Cork Street Tavern, located at 8 W. Cork St. near the southern end of the Loudoun Street Mall.

    A Winchester man with more than a dozen convictions will serve additional prison time after being caught with crack cocaine during a traffic stop last fall. Royal Theodore Summers Jr., 47, of the 200 block of Liberty Avenue, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Frederick County Circuit Court to distributing a controlled substance on Nov. 3 — his third such conviction. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, with all but eight years suspended.

Woodrow Cleveland Moore, 39, of Middleburg, Florida, was taken into custody late Sunday night and charged with two felony counts of arson following fires at the College Park Church of Christ and a nearby residence.

    The Winchester Police Department is investigating a Friday afternoon shooting that left a home and vehicle damaged on Valley Avenue. According to a department release, officers responded around 2:11 p.m. on May 2 to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Valley Avenue and Bellview Avenue in southern Winchester. When they arrived, officers spoke with witnesses and located multiple bullet fragments scattered along the west side of Valley Avenue.
