On Tuesday, three Gophers signed their letter of intent with two different colleges to continue their academic and athletic careers. During their time wearing the gold and black, they've won a combined eight district titles, ushering in one of the best eras in school history. Now they're looking to represent the Gophers at the collegiate level.

That trend is starting to affect the high school sports world as schools are struggling to field teams. Last year, the Novinger Wildcats almost had their baseball season canceled. This year, only four players returned. Their season was in jeopardy until Novinger teamed up with conference rival Brashear. Novinger Head Coach Jason Daniels says their new teammates have welcomed his players with open arms.
