A man was shot in Hollywood Friday afternoon. The man, 35, sustained multiple gunshot wounds at Lexington Park, located in the 3500 block of Lexington Avenue, at about 1:20 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. An ambulance was called for the man, whose condition has not been disclosed. Meanwhile, officers are searching for the shooter, believed to be a Hispanic man in his mid 20s wearing a white shirt and gray pants. He was last seen headed east toward Western Avenue.

A Ventura man was arrested on a felony charge of burglary after he was detained by a “diligent member of the community” Thursday morning, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Robert Gibson, 67, was identified as the burglar captured after the 7:30 a.m. break-in in the 400 block of Willard Road in unincorporated Santa Paula, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Multiple lanes of the 101 Freeway near downtown Los Angeles have been closed and will remain closed for much of Friday. Caltrans shared this image of a part of the 101 Freeway requiring emergency repairs on April 11, 2025. Citing “emergency repairs” required for a bridge joint on the southbound 101 Freeway near Temple Street, Caltrans said just after 9:30 a.m. that they had to close three lanes. “All southbound traffic was diverted to I-110,” the agency added.

Los Angeles Police officers may have been wounded in a fight with a suspect in downtown Los Angeles Thursday afternoon. The fight was reported at about 2:45 p.m. at 74th Street and Broadway, the LAPD said. The officers at the scene called for backup due to the fight with a suspect, who is now in custody. The condition of the officers and that suspect are unknown. Broadway is closed between 73rd and 74th streets as officers investigate. Nancy Fontan contributed to this report.

A jewelry store at Westfield Fashion Square in Sherman Oaks was robbed by four people Thursday afternoon. According to Officer Miller of the LAPD, the robbery was reported at 12:20 p.m., when four men in hoodies smashed glass and stole jewelry. The four then got into a silver Audi A6 and headed toward the 101 Freeway, Miller added. An ambulance was requested for a 60-year-old man who had been pepper sprayed. It’s unclear how he was connected to the incident. Nidia Becerra contributed to this report.
