Greater Cincinnati's newest convenience store chain is on the ballot today. Wawa, which opened its first Ohio store April 16, has two local liquor options on the ballot. If approved by voters, the two measures would allow the Wawas to sell alcohol on Sundays. The so-called "local option" measures are an unusual feature of Ohio elections, a vestige of the days after Prohibition was repealed. Only voters who live in the local precinct can decide on the sales. They often attract only a handful of votes.
