LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced a plan Tuesday to alter certain items eligible under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Sanders said her administration is announcing a plan to remove candy and soft drinks as eligible expenses under a new SNAP waiver. The SNAP program provides money every month for low-income families to buy food. In December 2024, Sanders called on the U.S. Department of Agriculture to reform the program.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – North Little Rock authorities responded to a plane crash at North Little Rock Municipal Airport on Thursday afternoon. According to the North Little Rock Fire Department, the call for the crash came in at 4:10 p.m.In a statement from Key Lime Air, a spokesperson said the incident happened due to a landing gear collapse during landing.

HB1150 would prevent PBMs from owning pharmacies. PBMs, like CVS Health, serve as the middlemen that negotiate drug prices from companies and pharmacies. Ashley Ellis, a district leader for CVS Health, a PBM that also operates pharmacies, said she would lose her job if the bill passes, closing 23 CVS pharmacies.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Removing the excise tax on soft drinks in Arkansas was debated at the state capitol Monday. Rep. David Ray (R-Maumelle) is leading the legislation and said the excise tax is burdening small businesses and is essentially double taxation because of sales tax.
