After years of making loaded baked potatoes in tents and carts, LA Spud Guys now has a permanent setup in Studio City that’s currently an evenings-only operation. The British-inspired taters are fully customizable and apparently no topping is off-limits, because here potatoes can be piled with baked beans, corn, bacon, tuna, or Flamin’ Hot Cheeto crumbs. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists.

Up on the fourth floor of Koreatown Plaza, Le Kream is a brightly lit, greenhouse-style dessert cafe that has rows of pastries called Kream Bombs, cube-shaped croissants filled with things like tiramisu, banana pudding, or matcha cream. And since this is a K-town cafe, cream-topped drinks are a given—but here they’ve got einspanners in flavors like black sesame, ube, and pistachio. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists.

The Century City mall keeps adding new restaurants like it’s trying to win back everyone who’s ever gotten lost in their parking garage. The latest is AC Barbeque, the first restaurant location of Anthony Anderson and Cedric the Entertainer’s barbecue brand. After years of selling their seasonings and rubs, they’re now serving smoked ribs, brisket, pulled pork, wings, and chicken, all doused in their signature sauce. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists.

What started as a one-woman cookie pop-up (by a private chef turned influencer) is now a full-on bakery in Pasadena. Badash Bakes took over the old Frenchifornia space, and it’s doing a lot more than just cookies. The morning menu includes matcha cinnamon rolls, banana bread, coffee cake, and muffins, and in the afternoon, you’ll find cornbread cookies, red velvet cake, brownies, and banana pudding. Downtown Dough serves Neopolitan-style pies with toppings like truffle fondue and cauliflower, or spicy pepperoni with fresno chiles. There’s also a full cocktail and spritz bar, plus pastas and snacks like focaccia and fried calamari.

Koreatown’s collective “where did Baekjeong go?” phase is now over. After a year-long hiatus, the Korean barbecue spot is back, just a few blocks away from its old spot. The menu still has the same combo sets and tabletop grills with built-in steamed egg and corn cheese. But now there’s a dry-aging room on display, more lunch sets with entrees like pork cutlets and kalguksu, and a massive mural on a brick wall. Kkondae might be slang for “grumpy old person,” but this Korean barbecue spot is clearly a place for people who aren’t afraid to let loose. There’s a 97% chance you’ll leave with a constellation of oil splatters on your shirt, and the space leans hard into the pocha aesthetic with metal tables, low stools, BTS songs on loop, and a few Jinro frog statuettes staring at you.

Ceci’s looks like the set of a spring shoot for a lemon seltzer brand, with bright yellow umbrellas, a whitewashed cottage exterior, and a cutesy, hand-painted sign. Even though this Italian cafe sits on a hectic stretch of Sunset Boulevard surrounded by strip malls and beauty salons, it still has the charm of a country picnic, just recreated on a sunny sidewalk. There are coffee drinks and pastries up front, but Ceci's most deserves your attention as a lunch destination.
