A civil group is collecting signatures to allow voters to decide whether to eliminate salaries and benefits for San Luis City Council members. The mayor is currently paid $1,750 a month; the vice mayor $1,300 a month, and council members $900 a month. These salaries were adopted in 2014.

The San Luis Economic Development Department invites residents and the general public to share their vision in the Historic Survey and Public Art Plan, which will gather community input for future efforts in historic preservation and urban art for the city. The survey--available online--is an initiative of the local Economic Development Commission, following a recommendation from the consulting firm Designing Local, which is working with the commission to create a plan in these areas.

A team from Ed Pastor Elementary School will represent San Luis and the state at the world finals of the Odyssey of the Mind competition, and they are seeking donations to help them take on this challenge. Seven fourth-grade students won the state phase of the competition on March 29. Now they are preparing to compete at the world finals in Michigan from May 21 to 25. In Odyssey of the Mind, students are challenged to use creativity to solve problems in the team-based competition.

San Luis, Ariz.- La lista de deseos de los departamentos municipales de San Luis sufrirá un profundo recorte en los proyectos de capital en el presupuesto del año fiscal 2025-2026 debido a caída en ingresos que recibe el ayuntamiento en varios renglones. Numerosos proyectos sugeridos por las dependencias por más de $59.1 millones de dólares tendrán que postergarse por la falta de fondos para ejecutarlos, eliminándose poco más de $11 millones de dólares de la lista para el año fiscal entrante.
