PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY) - Arizona lawmakers passed a new bill cracking down on those who falsely claim military service for personal gain. Senate Bill 1424, also known as the Stolen Valor Act, makes it a crime to knowingly lie about serving in the military or receiving honors in order to obtain jobs, benefits, or other Veteran specific privileges. The measure, led by State Representative Walt Blackman (R-District 7), aims to protect the integrity of military service and hold imposters accountable.

(KYMA, KECY) - Two local lawmakers are in support of a bill that they say would solve the state's housing crisis. Arizona State Representative Nick Kupper says Senate Bill 1114 would allow housing developments on pause to move forward in Buckeye and Phoenix by reducing the amount of water permitted for each house to be developed. The legislation, which is also sponsored by Senator Tim Dunn, reduces projected water demand by 15%.

YPD says Jeffrey Scott Gray, 54, is residing in the area of 4th Avenue and 1st Street, and is described as six-feet, one-inch, weighing 190 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. According to YPD, Gray molested a child who knew him back in 1994, and pled guilty of Attempted Sexual Conduct with a Minor the following year in Maricopa County.

Fishing Leader Sunshine Rodriguez was murdered in broad daylight while selling seafood last Saturday in the Independencia neighborhood.
