CLEVELAND – The practical nursing program at Lakeshore Technical College has been named #1 in Wisconsin for 2024 by PracticalNursing.org, a national organization of nursing professionals who analyzed all practical nursing programs in the state. LTC received a perfect rating of 100, which was based on an analysis of first-time licensing exam pass rates over the last three years, the number of students taking the exam, and the number of years pass rate data was available.

SHEBOYGAN FALLS – The Sheboygan Falls Falcons continued their perfect start to the season with a dominant 77-36 win over the Roncalli Jets in Thursday night’s Eastern Wisconsin Conference girls basketball matchup at Falls. With the win, Falls improves to 12-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play. The loss drops Roncalli to 5-7 (3-3 in the EWC). Falls and Valders are the only undefeated teams remaining in the EWC at 6-0.

SHEBOYGAN FALLS – One of Sheboygan County’s biggest employers will be undergoing a major transition in 2024, as Johnsonville announced it will be closing its Meadowside plant by the end of the year after acquiring Salm Partners of Denmark, Wis. The closing will affect 390 workers. Johnsonville’s Meadowside plant is one of three production facilities at its Sheboygan Falls headquarters. The site’s other facilities, Countryside and Riverside, will remain fully operational.

SHEBOYGAN – The City of Sheboygan has been awarded a $200,000 grant as part of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All program. Sheboygan is one of eight Wisconsin communities to receive money from the program, which is funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The grant will be used to develop Sheboygan’s Complete Streets policy, an initiative designed to improve citizen accessibility, safety and all forms of mobility in the city’s street infrastructure.

SHEBOYGAN – The Sheboygan Area School District has released its 2024-25 calendar with a few notable changes. The first is the elimination of the district’s weekly early release Wednesday schedule, which is used for staff professional development. That time will be replaced by monthly full-day recesses, which will create one day off per month for students. The full-day recesses are listed as “Professional Development Days: No School for Students” on the calendar.
