    The most impactful play of Iowa football’s 2024 season occurred in Week 2, with 29 seconds left on the Kinnick Stadium clock. From his own 32-yard line, Iowa State wide receiver Jaylin Noel used an out-and-up route to burn Iowa defensive back Sebastian Castro and haul in what would be a backbreaking, 30-yard gain. Iowa State, with no timeouts and a flicker of a chance before that play, suddenly was in position to win, 20-19, on Kyle Konrardy’s 54-yard field goal in the final seconds.

    Jan Jensen’s coaching staff continues to evolve, as Jasmyn Walker has been added with the title of assistant coach for Iowa women’s basketball. The University of Iowa made the announcement on June 2, with summer basketball practices set to begin soon. Walker, who spent last season at George Washington, replaces Tania Davis – who was Jensen’s director of player development last season. Davis was also listed as an assistant coach, officially.
