2 1/1 Motorists are being urged to plan ahead for the Summer Solstice event at Stonehenge. The event will take place on Friday, June 20, and the morning of Saturday, June 21. With limited parking, English Heritage is encouraging visitors to use public transport or car share. Parking will be available from 7pm on June 20 until 6am on June 21 and will close once full, with all vehicles needing to leave by noon on the Saturday.

Dogs Trust Salisbury said that even a short time alone in a vehicle could prove fatal, as temperatures inside can rise rapidly and cause heatstroke. The charity’s latest warning comes as the UK enjoys a spell of summer sunshine.

3 1/1 DAMAGE to a Hampshire town's war memorial is being investigated by the council. A passing dog walker spotted the damage to Romsey's War Memorial in War Memorial Park on Thursday, June 12. She took photos and contacted Romsey Town Council and the Test Valley Borough Council. She said: "As a regular dog walker in the early hours, I noticed some damage to the War Memorial. I collected the pieces of stone in a pile and reported the issue.
