OAK HARBOR, Ohio — Oak Harbor residents are hoping to find a way to declaw a four-legged problem that has plagued the village for years. Mayor Quinton Babcock says there have been cat colonies in the area since at least 2018. "There were congregating cats and no medical care provided," he said.

WHITEHOUSE, Ohio — The Anthony Wayne girls basketball program has a new head coach as the school has hired Chandler Adams to lead the Generals, according to athletic director John Snyder. Adams previously served as the boys junior varsity coach at Anthony Wayne for the past two seasons, where his teams finished with records of 12-7 in his first year, and most recently 16-3 during the 2024-25 season.

WHITEHOUSE, Ohio — Anthony Wayne and Northview baseball faced off Tuesday night, but neither team was just going for the win, they were honoring a late member of both their communities: Larry Morrison. Morrison was a star athlete at Anthony Wayne. In 1954, he, along with pitcher Lowell Hinkle, was part of the first group of guys in school history to earn 1st-team All-Ohio honors.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Simon Denis was a star for the Walleye. The Vancouver native tallied 100 points for the Walleye, the most by a defenseman in franchise history. After retiring in 2023, he's enjoying the post-hockey life in Sylvania. "Being able to be a part of a community is something we sought after for so many years, and then to be able to make this area home has just been amazing," Denis said. Denis's wife, Amber, was a distance runner in college and wanted the couple to race together.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Jacklynka Scholten knew at a young age that tennis was her sport. "It's a very big part of my life. Both my parents played college tennis. I tried other sports before. I tried soccer, gymnastics, but tennis really stuck with me," Scholten said. Scholten's parents met playing tennis at the University of Texas, El Paso. Her brother Maxik is also a tennis player and the two would practice with one another.
