Public help is wanted to help find 20-year-old Chelsea Whitcher from Totton who has been missing for nearly two days. Chelsea has not been seen since midday on Tuesday, and police say she may have travelled to Poole or Bournemouth. She is white, of very slim build, with long blonde hair and blue eyes. A SWAY mum has shared a warning after a driver followed her 14-year-old daughter as she walked to a friend’s house. The man in a large black car approached her around 8.30pm last Wednesday, asking where she was going and offering a lift. Calling his behaviour “bizarre”, the 34-year-old, who asked to remain anonymous, said the incident happened in daylight. “It’s alarming and concerning.

A GROUP of knitters from Barton has whipped up cuddly toys for police to give children who have gone through traumatic experiences. Lyndhurst police station recently welcomed members of Jax’s Knitting Lovelies who dropped off the new trauma teddies. These will be used to help provide comfort and reassurance to youngsters. Half of the toys will be used by PC Tash Stevens at Lyndhurst, while the other half have gone with PC Joey Chung, of Totton’s neighbourhood policing team.

POLICE have released a CCTV picture of a cyclist sought after a woman was abused and had her car wing mirror smashed in Hythe. A man targeted the victim, who is in her 20s, at Hythe library car park between 2.40pm and 2.55pm on Monday 12th May. It’s reported he swore at her and then punched her car wing mirror, breaking the glass. The man officers want to speak to is white, in his 20s, about 5ft 9in tall, of large build, with brown hair, and facial hair.

A long-awaited new Co-op plagued by years of delays is finally set to open at a landmark Barton building – which is up for sale for over £1.5 million. While no exact date has yet been provided, the store chain has announced customers will be welcomed to the branch at Westcliffe Buildings in the summer. The development has been a source of frustration for residents waiting for trade at the once-busy site, at the junction of Seaward Avenue and Sea Road, for nine years.
