A Bronx man is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly stabbing a man numerous times on board a subway train in an unprovoked attack Friday morning. Detectives apprehended Lateef Green, 50, of Bronx Boulevard just before 7 p.m. on April 18, roughly 12 hours after he allegedly went on the attack on board a Manhattan-bound 5 train near the East 219th Street station in Williamsbridge.

Bronx detectives continue to search for the suspect who shot two men, killing one of them, at a public housing complex on Easter Sunday. Police said the double shooting happened at about 2 p.m. on April 20 on the grounds of the Mott Haven Houses, behind 350 East 143rd St.Officers from the 40th Precinct and NYPD PSA 7, in responding to a 911 call about shots fired, found two victims at the scene: a 45-year-old man shot in the torso, and a 40-year-old man shot multiple times in the abdomen.

Dozens of Mott Haven residents were forced out of their homes on Easter Sunday after a four-alarm fire ripped through the top floor of a six-story apartment building at 345 Cypress Ave., injuring five people—including two firefighters—and heavily damaging multiple units. The FDNY arrived on the scene just after 2:20 p.m. on April 20 to find flames engulfing a top-floor apartment.

Firefighters used three hose lines from the exterior of the two-story building to knock down the main body of fire. A nearby resident was stunned to see the blaze, noting that Hatfields has “been in the neighborhood forever.”The fire was brought under control at 10:15 a.m. and there were no injuries. No immediate cause was given. The FDNY’s Fire Marshals Office will determine the cause and origin over the blaze.
