Debris believed to be from SpaceX’s 9th Starship launch is being found on a beach south of the border. Volunteers spoke to Channel 5 News, and said big and small fragments are all over the beach at Playa Bagdad, located in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. Items that have washed up include 11 air tanks. The debris was discovered by Rio Bravo-based veterinarian, Jesus Elias Ibarra Rodriguez. Rodriguez also runs “Conibio Global,” a wildlife conservation group.

SpaceX headed into their 9th Starship launch on Tuesday evening with new goals. SpaceX Engineering Manager Jeese Anderson said the company reacted to the explosion from the previous launch by sharing their safety coordination with multiple agencies and countries in the Caribbean. Tuesday’s launch would stress the vehicles even more.

After back-to-back explosions, SpaceX launched its mega rocket Starship again on Tuesday evening, but fell short of the main objectives when the spacecraft tumbled out of control and broke apart. The 403-foot (123-meter) rocket blasted off on its ninth demo from Starbase, SpaceX's launch site at the southern tip of Texas. Residents voted this month to organize as an official city.

The ninth Starship launch is set for Tuesday, May 27. An hour-long launch window opens at 6:30 p.m. CT. According to a SpaceX news release, the upcoming flight test marks the first launch of a flight-proven Super Heavy booster, which previously launched and returned on Starship’s seventh flight test.
