HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — In this edition of RGV True Crime, we examine the mind, motives and makings of a killer. A once peaceful neighborhood in Harlingen turned into a crime scene where investigators spent countless hours solving two murder cases. Anthony Eliff III was found guilty of fatally shooting his roommate inside a car with a single gunshot to the chest on Feb. 6, 2020. Guillermo Garcia’s death marked the first murder case of 2020 for the City of Harlingen.

Without an explanation, there was a failed attempt to terminate Jesus H. Chavez. BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — In this week’s Food 4 Thought, we are honoring a handshake deal to DK’s Stix and Stuff at 1655 Ruben Torres Blvd in Brownsville. They let us see the kitchen after its December health inspection report found dozens of violations. Its Dec. 2 inspection reports have a lot of problems and a low score of 67 for its kitchen inspection. It passed a city reinspection but the manager and owner admitted doing “bad” when we found plenty of violations.

We also visited a pool hall where the manager on duty decided to take a gamble on its cleanliness. The violations are racking up and they are going double or nothing on a promise to do better. A Top Performer sticker was awarded to the military-themed coffee shop Weslaco’s Daily Grind located at 409 S. Missouri Ave. in Weslaco.
