Summertime means strolls in the park and parties around the grill. It’s music in the air and children shrieking at splash pads. It’s the sweet scent of lilacs followed by hayfever sneezes. Summer is a time to get some Vitamin D (with sunscreen). Drink some Sunny D (then rinse the thick coat of sugar off your tongue). It’s time to pull up a sheet and park it under a tree. It’s a time to grow watermelons, pollinator flowers and way too many zucchini plants.

Hello, fantastic people. I’ll soon be passing this beautiful rag on to a new editor, whom you will very much love. I want to thank you for letting me be a part of your community for two and a half years. I came in here wide-eyed, bushy-tailed — and purely petrified like a panic-stricken wildewoman huffing white out and talking to myself.

Kendrick Lamar’s boot-cut flares. Platform sneakers on Spice Girls. Low-rise, bedazzled-bum jeans, a la Britney. Y2K aesthetic. The children are dipping into trends that we already cringed at 25 years ago. But I guess it’s fun to watch trainwrecks return, now that I’m older. My kid wears a fanny pack and cargo jeans so baggy the ultra-wide leg openings can fit a Kendrick, all five Spices and a Britney. No matter what we hate the most, it’s bound to come roaring back, like the eye of the Tiger.

This was a wild night. Ubered to Gothic then to Ogden. @therecordcomp put on a damn fine show, though. Warmed that frozen evening right up. https://t.co/FGM4o6lRZ2

Tonight’s show is being moved to the Ogden Theatre. Just now, the Gothic experienced an unfixable frozen pipe & plumbing issue and the show cannot continue there. Please join us at the Ogden and the show will go on! 9pm doors, 10pm showtime.

Does everyone listen to TikTok out loud on planes now? Or is it because I’m going to Florida? In related news, @FlyFrontier is the worst.

Real goddamn sick of readers making me cry. Just hit my 19th year as a journalist. And yes, I’m working on my weekend again. 🔥out
