HENDERSON, Nev. – Cody and Kevin Betsch were in fourth grade when the two current players for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings 16U Tier 1 team decided to pull a fast one on their teachers.
The two identical twins switched sweatshirts and classes at their elementary school flawlessly.

When the Massachusetts Spitfires play this week in the 2024 Chipotle-USA Hockey Girls Tier I 16U National Championships in Wesley Chapel, Florida, fans will notice the initials “PAF” on their orange jerseys.
The initials are on their left shoulders because as goaltender Jackie Wright said, “It’s closer to our hearts.”
They stand for Paul Albert Funk, the father of Spitfires right wing Madison Funk.
On April 15, 2023, Funk, 51, died unexpectedly.

Delmont, Pa. -- Chris Otero’s hockey skills and pursuits have not only brought him to Delmont, Pennsylvania, for the 2024 Chipotle-USA Hockey Youth Tier II 18U National Championship.
They are taking him all around the world.
Before joining the Golden Wolves in Florida to prepare for nationals, Otero was in Bogota, Colombia, in March practicing with the country’s national team.
“I’ve put so many years of my life into hockey and this is a pretty big month for me in April,” Otero said.

Danna Ramadan has to be extremely organized just to get the chance to focus on a specific task with her demanding schedule.
Currently, that task is stopping the puck.
Ramadan is one of two goalies in net for the Princeton Tiger Lillies of New Jersey this week at the 2024 Chipotle-USA Hockey Girls Tier II 16U National Championship in Green Bay, Wisconsin. HENDERSON, Nev. – Parents, friends, family, and the players themselves, were somewhat shocked Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. when the Las Vegas Golden Knights drumline – the Drumbots – burst into the lobby of First America Center.
Led by the Golden Knight himself and the team’s mascot, Chance, the group paraded into the rink to kick off the Chipotle-USA Hockey Tier I 16U National Championship and get everyone in attendance hyped for a week of youth hockey.

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — For one pair of coaches, Chipotle-USA Hockey National Championships are a familiar scene.
Caitrin Lonergan and Bridget McCarthy met at 10 years old when they skated for Assabet Valley, a girls hockey program in Concord, Mass., before playing collegiately for Boston College.
Years later, the pair still share the ice, now as coaches for Lovell Academy’s 14U girls team.

After winning the Patty Kazmaier Award on Saturday night, Izzy Daniel spent time studying the names of other winners engraved upon the trophy with a look of awe on her face.
The Cornell senior and Minneapolis native specifically mentioned Taylor Heise, who Daniel grew up playing with and against. A force on the U.S. Women’s National Team and now playing PWHL Minnesota, Heise is someone Daniel has long looked up to.

The American Collegiate Hockey Association has been looking for a permanent home for its annual national championships for years.
When St. Louis hosted the ACHA National Championships in 2022, Craig Barnett, the ACHA’s executive director, felt he may have found the permanent site he’d been looking for.
Two years later, the event is back in St. Louis and will be for years to come.
