LISBON — Germantown couldn’t overtake Hamilton for the title, but Alaina Williams and a long-ball offense prevented the Chargers from completing an undefeated conference season. Williams tossed a complete game, and Mia Hansen and Madison Werner each homered to pace the visiting Warkawks to a 9-5 victory over Hamilton in a Greater Metro Conference softball game Thursday. Germantown, which extended its winning streak to eight games, finished conference play at 14-2 and improved to 15-3 overall.

WEST BEND — Early homers and pressure pitching provided a winning combination for Slinger. Brooke Tennies and Chloe Wolf set the tone with a pair of first-inning homers and Slinger’s pitchers buckled down with runners aboard to propel the Owls to a 7-3 victory over West Bend East in a North Shore Conference softball game Thursday. "I liked that our bats came out pretty hot, but I wish we’d been a little bit more consistent throughout the game," said Slinger coach Tanya Farhat.
